The joint commission was comprised of representatives from the county and five municipalities and performed all local planning assistance.Program Achievements:1. Coordination and integration of comprehensive planning, building inspection, and code enforcement program into the on-going process of local government;2. Initiation of an one-stop permitting system with responsibility for coordinating the code enforcement and building permitting programs.3. Administered a CDBG small cities grant, as well as ongoing implementation for a CDBG entitlement grant;4. Numerous state grant programs for the local governments were also administered, as well as BOR, CENSUS-DIME, HUD-701, rural development and transportation programs.5. Developed the community's first Comprehensive Plan, countywide subdivision regulations and new zoning ordinance.
