Responsibilities include managing special projects such as the city paving and infrastructure maintenance and updates while maintaining a balanced budjet, procurment and purchasing of tools, equip., vehicles, materials and safety supplies. Acting safety cordinator for all city government, purchase necessary safety gear, personal protective equipment, have routine safety classes, constantly checking equip. and vehicles for wear. Utilize safety grant money to its fullest. Inspection of all constuction projects to maintain adherence to current International Residential Codes. Certify that all contractors have proper licenses for work being performed. Assign appropriate permits for projects. Perform final inspections in all phases of construction and grant the Certificate of Occupancy. Inspect to make sure all city ordinances that are applicable are being abided by. Perform site inspections for Georgia Soil & Water Conservation to be sure all erosion control is being maintained.

Responsibilities included preparing commercial job sites, procurement of materials, communication with sub-contractors and supervisory duties over various labor crews. Knowledgeable in all local, state and federal building codes, erecting steel, working with concrete and performing carpetry duties. Constant safety awareness over the total job site was a must including all communication with OSHA personnel and paperwork requirements.
