I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in December of 2009 with honors (cum laude). I have obtained my PE certification in the state of Colorado and have 11+ years of civil engineering design and project management experience. I am currently working at Harris Kocher Smith located in Denver, Colorado. HKS has provided me with an incredible opportunity to manage projects and teams to move projects from concept stage, through the inevitable challenges of any project, to construction and completion. I have also been given the opportunity to explore business development and leadership. I work with owners, clients, architects, contractors and local/state agencies to resolve engineering and design issues, to ensure the timely, cost-effective and safe delivery of projects.I previously worked at Hurst and Associates in Lafayette, Colorado. In this role I worked on drainage, storm water management, rural and suburban highway and roadway design. I also had the opportunity to design sanitary, storm and water networks, perform earthwork calculations, quantity takeoffs and cost estimation. I have 7 years of land surveying experience with Hurst and Associates, as well. This experience includes subdivision plats, ALTA/ASCM land title surveys, boundary, topographic, site grading and construction staking. I am experienced with GPS and conventional survey equipment and software of all types.I worked at Trimble Navigation as a Product Development Engineer. This position gave me unique insight into the world of geospatial technology as it relates to construction. An amazing and truly international organization to have been involved with.I also work as a professional musician and have toured and recorded throughout the country with groups such as Big Head Todd, The Samples, The Romantics , Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Parliament-Funkadelic, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Midnight, The Melodians, and The Mighty Diamonds, to name a few. Through these associations I have learned to approach challenges creatively. I have many years of management/organizational experience leading groups of various sizes. These relationships have given me an understanding of team cohesion, dynamics, and interpersonal relations. I have experience working and collaborating with individuals from many cultures with varied communication skills, work habits, and expectations. This has taught me to be effective in building relationships that allow my groups to complete tasks in a timely manner and achieve great results.
