Richard Eichmann is a Senior Managing Director for NERA Economic Consulting, based in California, Massachusetts, and New York. He has expertise in damages modeling, class actions, econometrics, statistics, sampling, survey methods, and business valuation. He is the current San Francisco office head and Chair of the Global Intellectual Property practice. He specializes in damages modeling in a variety of disputes, including matters involving complex and large-scale data and statistical analyses. He focuses primarily on product defect and false advertising class action, patent and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and general commercial litigation matters. He is an experienced testifying damages expert with over 25 years of experience in litigation consulting and litigation support as a damages expert. He has filed expert reports in Federal court on the application of statistical methods, sampling, survey design, business valuation, and econometrics as they pertain to the calculation of damages. He has provided arbitration, including international arbitration, deposition, and both Federal and State Court trial testimony.Prior to joining NERA, Mr. Eichmann provided economic analysis and dispute advisory services at both public and private litigation consulting firms and two Big 4 accounting firms. In addition, he has worked as an analyst in the automotive industry utilizing proprietary survey research data for time series analysis and as a research assistant for the Survey Research Center at the Institute for Social Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan on panel study surveys.Mr. Eichmann is an ABD (all but dissertation) economist and valuation analyst. He is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) in Commercial Damages through the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), where he is currently a grader for new CVA candidates. He holds two BA degrees in economics and philosophy from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he remained for graduate school. He completed additional economic graduate work at George Mason University as well as business valuation courses by the American Society of Appraisers and NACVA.An avid reader, he is a student of philosophy, physics, and art. He is also a soccer enthusiast committed to youth development, focused on newly arrived immigrants and refugees.
