A 2-year program in which volunteers work at the grassroots level to create change that lasts long after their service. Peace Corps Volunteers reflect the diversity of America united behind a shared purpose. Volunteers in Namibia work with their communities on projects in education and community economic development. During their service in Namibia, Volunteers learn to speak local languages, including Afrikaans, Khoekhoegowab, Otjiherero, Oshindonga, Oshikwanyama, Rukwangali, Silozi:- Instructed 260+ learners ages 12 - 20 in grades 7, 8, and 9 in English, Science, and Computer Literacy at a Combined school and a Secondary school in both a rural village and small developing town located in Namibia, Africa. Learner's improvements were measured through classroom and regional assessments.- Co-created and led youth camp dedicated to teaching young girls ages 14-18 the importance of self - love, self - care, and self - respect in regards to their physical and mental health. Successfully helped the 35 girls locate and obtain resources (reading/school material, sanitary products, etc...) that would provide them the tools they needed to succeed both in and out of school.- Worked with counterparts to help develop resources for schools that were located within an educational supply desert and promoted DIY learning tools and supplies. Successfully created learning tools that would reach over 1000+ learners.
