Ric Keller established a record of reform in education and labor law while serving in the U.S. House of Representatives between 2001 and 2009. He wrote legislation to provide employers with a 90-day window to correct noncompliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act before a lawsuit can be filed. Also in the area of employment law, Ric Keller led the opposition against a "card check" bill that would have done away with voting by secret ballot in union elections. Moreover, he championed legislation that eliminated wasteful spending in the Federal Pell Grant program, earning a Taxpayer Hero award from the group Citizens Against Government Waste. While representing Florida’s eighth congressional district, Ric Keller also sought to reform intellectual property laws. A member of the Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on that matter, he wrote the law that put a stop to illegal sharing of music and movies on college campuses. Now a Senior Partner in the Orlando-based legal practice Hill, Rugh, Keller & Main, P.L., Ric Keller applies his considerable experience to matters pertaining to product liability and commercial litigation. Raised in Orlando, Ric Keller obtained a Bachelor of Arts from East Tennessee State University, in Johnson City, where he graduated at the head of his class. He earned a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, in Nashville. Ric Keller formerly chaired the Board of Directors of Compact, a program that matches mentors to teens deemed at risk of dropping out of school.
