The station was connected to WHO radio. The radio home of Ronald "Dutch" Reagan. We had a steady stream of Presidential wannabes from VP Dan Quayle to a host of other contenders. It was interesting to watch them pay homage to the place where Reagan once filled the airwaves with Cub baseball games. KTHV was situated between the Governor's mansion and the state capitol during the administration of Governor Bill Clinton. It was not unusual to see the Governor drop in on his way home to the mansion. He had charisma, an ability to teach young reporters and producers about state government, and a wonderful outgoing personality. It wasn't surprising to see how the Governor from Arkansas captured America's heart when he ran for President.

KOLR-TV was the home of Bob Barker "Price is Right" and to John Ashcroft Governor, Congressman, and US Attorney. Both worked at the station early in their professional lives. This family owned station had a swimming pool for employees! My experience here included a shift of political power in 1984 as Republicans led by John Ashcroft swept all of the major state offices.
