After being promoted to Staff Accountant, I have continued many of the same responsibilities I had as a junior accountant but with less oversight. I have also taken on larger bank reconciliations and continue to work across departments. Each month, I train new hires on the Concur system and am available to answer any questions as they begin to work in the program.

In this position, I focused on expense accounting for FMG Law. I primarily worked to audit employee expenses, bank reconciliations, and month-end reclassifying. In one of my first weeks, I led a company-wide virtual training on the new expense reporting system, Concur. I continued to work with members of my team and across the enterprise to ensure everyone is up to speed on the new system and requirements. I also worked with accounts receivable and accounts payable to clear and clean up our operating account each day.

After being promoted from my first position with Ferrovial Construction, I moved to primarily work in the construction office rather than the corporate office. As staff accountant, I handled accounts payable for the traffic construction department, ensured that invoices are complete, filed, and paid out on time; oversaw all concrete accounts payable for the project; oversaw all vehicle maintenance accounts payable for all construction vehicles, ranging from in-office staff's vehicles to employees in the field driving trucks on-site; and processed expense reports for all employees at this location. Crucially, I also collaborated with internal departments as well as external vendors to ensure all invoices are accurate, construction needs are met, maintenance requests are handled, and costs are validated.Additionally, as assistant equipment manager, I coordinated with vendors to price and procure equipment requested by employees in the field, worked to locate both the best price and the item that will most effectively fulfill the needs of the crew. Each new piece of machinery required a detailed purchase order which is then filed into the company's system. In this role, I also handled utilization reports for all equipment, which detail how many hours the machine was used each week and determine if the piece should continue to be used and paid for. Finally, I reconciled equipment on-rent list each week based on information provided by the vendors.This role honed my relationship-building and collaborative skills and demonstrated my attention to detail.

In this position, I was trained to utilize the company's Insight accounting program and SAP, which I picked up quickly despite having never used either one before. I handled expense reports and all accounts payable for the corporate office, including for the C-Suite members, and managed all office supply orders, making adjustments as needed, including during work-from-home mandates and hybrid office schedule pivots. Throughout my tenure in this role, I worked closely with the CFO on many projects, including creating a monthly Profit and Loss report.

During this one-year co-op, I fulfilled a variety of needs for the firm. After being trained on QuickBooks, my primary responsibilities included bookkeeping, payroll, preparing sales tax forms, and preparing individual tax returns for customers. In addition to these responsibilities and helping the firm in other projects, I oversaw bookkeeping for three clients and ran point on paying bills, running payroll, reconciling bank statements, and effectively communicating with their staff members.

I worked at Silgan as a temp worker for summer help. My job was to inspect and package bottles as they came down the line, preparing my own boxes and pallets on each line. If the line ever went down, I cleaned the area around the line to ensure a safe working area until it was running again.

In this role, I handled reservations for new and recurring customers, cleaned and sanitized the kennels, and oversaw the dogs' day-to-day needs, from food and water to letting them out and ensuring any specific dietary or health needs were met.
