Rick Harris is a Principal at Cerity Partners, serving in the institutional retirement plan consulting space. His primary expertise is as a fiduciary and ERISA consultant to private educational institutions with regard to their defined contribution retirement plans. Rick’s financial investment background provides a depth of knowledge in many facets of the financial industry, and his previous work as a college professor gives him distinct insight and expertise in serving the private/higher education community.Before entering the financial services industry in 2002, Rick served on the faculties of several different institutions of higher education, most recently at Bradley University (Peoria, IL), Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH), and Bluffton University (Bluffton, OH). Rick received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Idaho and his Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. After receiving formal training in prudent investment process and ISO-like assessment procedures, Rick earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA®) professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh. Rick is active in his local church, and sits on the advisory board of Crosshill Christian School, where he also coaches middle-school basketball. Rick was a founding member and served on the executive committee of the (International) Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers. He also served for several years as director of the Keizer Upward Youth Basketball League. Rick, Amy, and their two sons currently reside in Keizer, a northern suburb of Salem. He and his family enjoy camping, backpacking, canoeing, basketball, music, reading, and performing fun (and probably dangerous) science experiments in their kitchen and backyard.
