Rick joined Vestar in 1994; he's presently the Vice President of Leasing, its former Director and a 32-year veteran of the industry. He is responsible for the leasing, marketing, and broker management of the company’s retail portfolios (development, operational, third party) in the western U.S. (AZ, CA, TX).As a longstanding member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and a volunteer executive since 1997, he is the recipient of the prestigious “Trustees Distinguished Service Award” (2010). Former positions include Chairman of the Western Division Conference, a 13-state regional program (2007 – 2009); Arizona's PAC Chairman (2005 – 2008) and the AZ/NM/NV State Director (2002 – 2005).Another organization of importance for Vestar is Valley Partnership. Its centric goals are advocacy, education, networking and philanthropy within the commercial real estate industry in metropolitan Phoenix. Rick was actively engaged on the Board of Directors from 2005-2013, a past Chairman (2012), focusing on board development and governance, communication strategies, strategic public/private sector alliances, and enhancement of fiscal policies.He is community-minded supporting many local charities and organizations. Since 2008, Rick has been actively involved with Fighter Country Partnership. A member of the Board since 2009, the current Immediate Past Chairman, and a former Honorary Commander for the 56th MXG Command... his role is to guide this philanthropic, advocacy group in their support of the service personnel, families and mission of Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.
