I "came out of retirement" in 2022 to run for elected office in the WV House of Delegates. After winning a four-way primary, I ran unopposed in November 2022. I was sworn into office in January 2023.Previously, I retired retroactively in 2013 to care for my first wife from the Luke Paper Company (a subsidiary of NewPage Corp) which I joined in April 2012 as a Power & Recovery, Pulp and Woodyard Supervisor. I was promoted in June 2012 to Pulping Engineer / Unbleached Supervisor. As the Unbleached Supervisor I am responsible for the people, processes and equipment (including a small laboratory) that converts hardwood and pine wood chips into brownstock pulp before "handing off" the pulp to the bleached processes. Prior to working for NewPage, I used my maintenance experience as a Maintenance Supervisor at American Woodmark's Hardy County (WV) plant until they unexpectedly closed the plant. Formerly a Department of Defense Senior Engineering and Program Manager Executive, consultant and retired Navy Engineering Duty Officer with proven team building, manpower and personnel development skills. Over 20 years of increasing engineering maintenance and logistics management responsibility in the Navy and private industry.
