I am the Chairman of the CST Committee for the State of Wisconsin, which according to the NSPS (National Society of Professional Surveyors) is also known as the Wisconsin Coordinator of the CST's.

The Certified Survey Technician is a Nation wide program that trains a potential surveyor the use of basic tools of surveying, field operations, mathematical computations, knowledge and the importance of Horizontal and vertical Control, comprehensive field note taking, plan reading and preparation, and the use of CAD. These functions begin at entry level and end with intermediate and supervisory status.More focused efforts at State level, I help in the process of Scheduling and proctoring testing at least twice a year in conjunction with the Summer Meeting and Annual Institute (Where Professional Land Surveyors receive much of their continuing education). As a committee we promote the participation in this program with both technicians and their employers as well as the Wisconsin DOT to be included as part of their contracting and among its personnel. We encourage employers to link the CST testing with raises and promotions. We help sponsor annual awards and recognition for those who have become Certified Survey Technicians during the past year and prepare a brief for publication that explains the program and the benefits of hiring CST’s for firms. We also coordinate with the WSLS Education Committee to discuss CST as an evaluation tool for future employment and pro’s/con’s for a certificate needed for employment.

I sit on a board for the Village of Richfield, Boards of Review, to hear the testimony of local residents that are appealing their property assessment. I and the board I help represent can adjust assessments when they have been proven incorrect by sworn testimony. We can correct any errors or omissions in the descriptions or computations found on the assessment roll. We can also review and check the assessment roll for omitted property and double assessments. However one important fact; the Boards of Review are controlled and regulated by the laws defined in State Statutes 70.46 through 70.48. The laws we are confined to can sometimes make our decisions difficult, and that sometimes our decisions are emotional for the local resident who is appealing their assessment.

After 20 plus years in the Land Surveying business, I decided to work for myself. From day 1 back in 1987 to the present, I feel like in the traditional sense of work; has not been work. It can be best said "Find something that you love to do and you'll never have to work a day in your life." I love Land Surveying and I have a great dedication to the industry. I support education, continuing education, and I have a lot of respect for the people and events that make up the history of Land Surveying. As a matter of fact there is history in my logo and in the name of my business; "Continental Surveying Services." I want to uphold the integrity, professionalism, and the special talents that make up a Land Surveyor. I enjoy educating my clients when it is necessary and I hope that someday when you need or want a survey, I can show you what I mean.

Continental Surveying Services LLC bought Elder Engineering LLC, now known as ELDER SURVEYING SERVICES. At Elder Surveying Services we perform all residential and commercial Land Surveying needs for the Village of Richfield and surrounding areas. At Elder Surveying we make up a part of Richfield's history and traditions. My basic role at Elder Surveying Services is to manage and oversee all Land Surveying practices within the business, steer and implement marketing strategies, help with sales, and assist with any and all office tasks and goals.Elder Surveying Services is a Continental Surveying Services LLC company doing business as Elder Surveying Services.

We are a Networking group designed around the community, and helping each and every business owner or manager in their daily activities within Washington County.We Support Local Businesses and the Community.

Steered the group toward opportunities in creating a more desireable organization such as; troubleshooting membership including current members and prospects, Planning and organizing Guest Speakers, and Social Events, planned meeting agendas as well as moderated the meetings.

Here at Losik Engineering Design Group, I set up field crews, created rezoning, annexation, land transfer and easement exhibits. I drafted and assisted in the coordination of information for Final Plats, Condominium Plats and Certified Survey Maps. I created many legal descriptions for existing and proposed parcels. I assisted in field procedures with regards to Lot Surveys / Boundary work.

At Capitol Survey I performed construction surveying in residential and commercial projects. All work was coordinated with the Survey Manager, me and the Construction foreman.

Here at Metropolitan Survey I was responsible for coordinating my schedule with contractors, developers and expediters to provide construction staking or boundary work. I performed many types of surveys. To list a few I have completed Lot Surveys, ALTA Surveys, House Stakeouts, As-Built Surveys, Topography, Certified Survey Maps and Lake Surveys. All surveys performed were also drafted.

I performed construction staking mostly for State projects.

I sold Real Estate negotiating Sales contract and Listing contracts. Federated Realty may not be in business today. I believe they were purchased by Coldwell Banker. Please verify.

I began my career here at Jahnke & Jahnke through a coop job in High School. After my High School year ended I was asked to work full time during the summer and after summer I was aked to work Full Time as a Full Time employee. Of course I accepted. My experience here involves manual drafting and computations of Final Plats and individual lots for house stakeouts. I researched parcels of land at the courthouse and assisted the survey crews in the field.
