Music Therapist
Current• Facilitates individual music therapy sessions for infants, children, and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and anxiety. • Employs Neurologic Music Therapy approach to address individualized goals across domains (cognitive, sensorimotor, communication, sensory, executive functioning). • Develops customized music-based interventions (instrument playing, songwriting with Garage Band, singing, music and movement) and uses child-preferred music to target goals. • Collaborates in co-treatment sessions with speech, occupational, and ABA therapists. • Records daily notes reflecting client’s progress following each session and modifies goals in progress and re-evaluation notes every six months to reflect client’s growth and needs. • Educates parents and caregivers on strategies to transfer skills from clinic to home, including emotional regulation and learning.
