About Ricki Nielsen

I am a speaker, workshop facilitator, and author of the book: "Mange bolde I luften - Skriv konkrete jobopslag og skab en ny rekrutteringsproces." I assist organizations by presenting simple strategies and effective tools for writing specific job postings and creating a simpler and more meaningful screening and recruitment process. The organizations I help typically achieve the following benefits:✓ Hire the candidate best suited to tackle the tasks, not just the one best at applying for the job.✓ Weed out irrelevant candidates right from when they read the job posting.✓ Get candidates who quickly add value to your organization.✓ Reduce time to hire.My mission is to create a fair recruitment process that promotes greater diversity and gives everyone the opportunity to get the job they are best at, contributing to ensuring that all individuals achieve the work life they dream of.Since 2009, I have met with up to 10,000 job seekers annually through various lectures, courses, and coaching sessions. The knowledge I have gained, the success stories I have heard, and the honest and constructive feedback I have received have allowed me to translate how organizations can make their job postings and recruitment process more tangible, ensuring the best match for the job.

  • Djøf - The Danish Association Of Lawyers And Economists (Previously C3 Management & Economics)
    Career Consultant
Djøf - The Danish Association Of Lawyers And Economists (Previously C3 Management & Economics) Jan 2009 - Sep 2010
    Copenhagen Area, Denmark
Responsibilities:- Supporting members in taking responsibility and navigating effectively in all aspects of their careers.Selected Results:- Facilitated workshops, courses, etc. for 1,000+ members and potential members each year.- Coached over 250 members in individual sessions each year.> Success Story:At the beginning of 2009 my job was to counsel job-seeking members on the phone. Most members faced the same challenges. Therefore I collectivised the counselling service by, in less than two weeks, developing a workshop on personal branding with a focus on job searching. This made it possible for me to motivate and inspire 36 members face to face in two days, instead of counselling eight members in the same amount of time. More than 1,500 members participated in my workshops, which was the most booked event in C3 and DJØF. Course evaluations were top-notch, and according to LinkedIn, 70 per cent of the members had found jobs within three months of participating in the workshops. An added bonus was the network which was generated amongst the members, and the intense activity in Denmark’s first job search group on LinkedIn.
  • Saxo Bank
    Hr Development Consultant
    Saxo Bank Feb 2008 - Dec 2008
    Copenhagen Area, Denmark
    > Success Stories:In June 2008 at Saxo Bank, I worked with a firm of consultants who were interviewing non-Danish employees in ten companies to discover what makes foreign employees remain in Denmark. Towards the end of the reporting phase, I was given some of the conclusions, and contacted Saxo’s PR manager with the suggestion to run the very interesting results in the media. The result was coverage by TV2 News and Lorry (leading Danish TV-stations) and a two-page spread in Berlingske Tidende (a leading Danish newspaper), with a teaser on the front page. In October 2007 in Saxo Bank, I talked to a foreign colleague, who I realised did not understand the public transport tariff system and paid way too much for his daily trip to and from work. This made me take the initiative to run a series of “new in Denmark/Saxo Bank” sessions, which today are offered to all foreign employees. The sessions provide the opportunity to meet peers in informal surroundings, follow Danish courses and much more.
  • Paul Petersens Idrætsinstitut
    Coach / Consultant / Teacher
Paul Petersens Idrætsinstitut Sep 2004 - Jan 2008
    Copenhagen Area, Denmark
    > Success Story:In 2002, as a student at PP, I was coached as part of a trial to provide career coaching for students. I started joining the coach as an observer and was allowed to run a couple of sessions. Having further developed my coaching skills, in 2003 I started providing free career coaching for all students. Evaluations were overwhelmingly positive, and I was subsequently paid to deliver the coaching as a fixed part of the education.
  • Dgi-Byens Event Services
    Teamlead And Education Consultant
    Dgi-Byens Event Services Sep 2003 - Jan 2008
    Copenhagen Area, Denmark
    > Success Story:For all the approx. 100 instructors and team leaders in the event services department to deliver the same high level of quality, I took the initiative to develop an introduction and training programme. The programme quickly became mandatory for all employees, newly hired as well as existing staff. Apart from providing formal guidelines for the handling of tasks, the programme generated a positive atmosphere amongst employees, a better working environment and higher safety standards. The programme was a success which became known in the entire organisation, and it was decided that all part-time DGI-byen employees from other departments must participate in “my” programme. However, before this was implemented, I finished my studies and started a new job.
  • Restaurant Karot
    Manager
    Restaurant Karot Sep 2002 - Jun 2003
    Copenhagen Area, Denmark
    > Success Story:In September 2002 I started the work of rebuilding Restaurant Karot, which was operating with a serious loss. In just two months I managed to increase the turnover fivefold and reach break-even, partly due to hiring new, well-functioning staff. According to plan, the business was sold in 2003 at a sum in the million kroner range, which was much higher than expected. The recipe: a lot of free ice water and excellent service.
  • Vigilante / Neupart & Munkedal
    Keyaccount & Channel Manager
    Vigilante / Neupart & Munkedal Apr 2000 - May 2002
    Copenhagen Area, Denmark
    > Success story:Working as a consultant with VIGILANTe in 2001, I had the feeling that customers were often prepared to sign the contract at the actual customer meeting, which unfortunately was not possible with the type of contracts the company had. My colleagues believed it was impossible to change this, as they had tried before. I talked to our manager, who asked the legal department to develop a new type of contract. Leaving from my next customer meeting, I had a signed contract in my briefcase. “Imagine if all employees globally had a contract in their briefcase when they visited customers,” I said to my boss when I returned to the office. In less than a week it was mandatory for all employees worldwide to take a contract with them to speed up the ordering process.
