As a clinical scientist, besides research, I translated innovations from the research field to effective implementations that increase the benefit of MRI in the radiotherapy workflow. My specialties are quantitative (diffusion) imaging, geometric fidelity, and the Elekta Unity MR-linac.

Many long-term measurement data sets contain irregularities, due to missed observations or irregular intervals between measurements. I constructed a method, based on Markov chains, to deal with these irregular time series. The method was used to show that a hygienic foot bath decreases inflammation in the legs of cows.

During my PhD, I studied theoretical 2D square-lattice models of magnets (e.g. Heisenberg model to study skyrmions) and ice (e.g., F model), primarily using Monte-Carlo simulations. The focus was on phase transitions and the effects of boundary conditions on equilibrium properties.
