We created some of the most beautiful, comfortable men's and women's socks ever worn. XOAB pioneered rapid design and prototyping for socks, and proved that small-batch sock manufacturing is viable. We sourced our materials in the USA, using the finest long-staple cotton and small-micron merino wool. We created extensive prototyping and analysis software for socks, modified knitting hardware to allow per-sock customization (including creating a low-resolution barcoding symbology for tracking knitted garments) and patented technology to generate knitting machine programs to assure perfect stretch and fit. Central to our small-batch methodology was exercising control and ensuring scalability of our entire supply chain, from greige fiber through spinning and dyeing to the design and capabilities of our knitting machines.

Created Sun Cups, an iconic chocolate brand that scaled from an innovative concept and 500 hand-made samples to national distribution in 2000+ stores in only two years. As the first-ever candy company to use sustainable, home-compostable packaging, and one of the first nut-free, gluten-free luxury organic chocolate brands, Seth Ellis proved organic, allergen-free, premium chocolates could stack up to the best in the world. I founded the company, raised capital, led organic, sustainable sourcing and product development, built out a world-class, organic- and kosher-certified manufacturing facility with end-to-end ingredient tracking and MRP, and led brand development.

Worked as interim CEO of this startup, focusing on video capture and annotation software for athletics. Customers included the NFL and NCAA.

Courted customers for custom, high-volume, web-based applications and services for the financial industry, landing major financial institutions as clients. We specialized in data-centric applications integrating myriad real-time and stored data sources, with sophisticated, interactive visualization interfaces.

Co-founder. Created the first local business review and recommendation service, focusing on newspaper publishers as customers, including Media News Group (Denver Post) and McClatchy Newspapers (Minneapolis Star/Tribune.) Built the first very-high-volume email marketing system with template-driven, end-customer management of all functions.

Worked in various roles as both an individual contributor and senior manager creating user-experience-centric solutions for Sun products. Spearheaded the creation of the first usability testing facilities within Sun, and championed the integration of visual design disciplines into mainstream software development. I was Web Architect for the Java Software Group, created the Java Developer Connection, and implemented Sun's first e-commerce sites and programs.
