I love seeing people reach potential. I help ethical organisations achieve their goals by earning their place in the hearts and minds of their ideal audience. It's about influence, integrity and trust - all rewards that must be earned one touchpoint at a time. In a world where social license is such a valuable asset, businesses can no longer afford to ignore their position in the community. At Effective, my boutique brand agency, we become a trusted long term partner of an organisation that sits in the background allowing our clients to take all the glory they've earned. We don't win by outspending the competition, we win by out-thinking them and delivering consistently. My personal skill set sits across:> brand integrity> social license> business transformation and future planning> digital media formulation> event managementOur company success is proven by our very high, multi-year retention rate, and a client list that are all experiencing growth and exciting levels of evolution. Whilst our organisation is growing, we're not accepting new clients at the moment - our growth is only in line with that as needed by our clients. At the age of 42, I have well over a hundred years experience. How can that be? It's all a matter of perspective and how we convey value. I'll explain when we meet.Btw, I also get a thrill from intelligent design, biophilic architecture, property development, Rotary, learning random stuff, quiet time, hanging with my nephews and nieces, mowing lawns, cuddling my dog and my partner (none of this is in order of priority).

PresidentRelationships Australia Tasmania Jun 2019 - Oct 2023New Town, Tasmania, AuCelebrating 75 years this year, since being founded as a marriage counselling service, around 160 staff at Relationships Australia Tasmania now deliver a broad range of community relationships services across our state. -
DirectorRelationships Australia Tasmania Apr 2018 - Sep 2020New Town, Tasmania, AuAs someone who has used one of their services some years ago, I appreciate the quality and accessibility of their work, and know this is continuing as they carried a 96% satisfaction rate last year : particularly great considering that some programs are involuntary. Last year they assisted 8131 individual clients over 23,447 sessions. As life becomes more complex, their vision is to help Tasmanians enjoy positive, respectful and fulfilling relationships. That's very much in line with what I strive for too. As examples, the SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY program is being rolled out across schools and Relationships Australia Tasmania are working heavily in early intervention mental health programs as well as Gamblers Help in partnership with Anglicare Tasmania. Even assisting with gambling counselling in the Tasmania Prison Service. I've also read some of the inspiring stories from the 152 employees on the value they add to the lives of others and some real case studies on the painful situations they've made positive differences in. I feel privileged and look forward to working with a talented board to help guide this organisation in to the future and continue helping thousands of Tasmanians every year. -

Community Engagement And Insights LeadLaunceston Airport Jun 2012 - Nov 2020Western Junction, Tasmania, AuWith a long-term contract and the support of my team at Effective, I led the launch and growth of key social media platforms, EDM audiences, and a community-focused approach to engagement for Launceston Airport. This effort positioned the airport as a high-performing and well-regarded asset.Working primarily with Paul Hodgen and Michael Cullen, who fostered a unified "one team" approach, we used customer feedback to identify trends, implement improvements, and keep the public informed. This strategy earned Launceston Airport the highest customer review score among Australian airports and the 7th highest social media engagement ranking, despite being in Australia’s 17th largest city.Understanding that every touchpoint impacts the customer journey, we considered the emotional shifts between outbound and inbound travellers, neurodivergent, and various abilities. Key Responsibilities:Persona Development: Shaped a relatable voice that balanced friendliness and authority (think Obama, fun but won't compromise security).Enhancing Customer Journeys: Mapped and optimised online and offline experiences, offering insights to improve airport partner operations.Public Education: Simplified complex airport operations and explained processes to build trust and passenger understanding.Proactive Communication: Reduced stress during peak periods through timely updates and messaging.Celebrating Moments: Highlighted meaningful milestones - example: sending pizzas, travel voucher and a card to the 21st party of lady born in our car park!Complaint Resolution: Addressed customer concerns in realtime, collaborating with the Operations team for issues like fog, airline cancellations or locating lost items, e.g., reuniting a child with their teddy bear.Strategic Input: Used customer insights to influence decisions on projects like car park expansions.COVID-19 Response: Managed clear and empathetic communications in a rapidly changing and 'wordy' environment. -
