Sharepoint Services Lead (Architect/Administrator Role)Texas Department Of Public Safety Aug 2020 - Nov 2021UsThis was my second assignment working at TXDPS. By this time, the user base had grown to 15,000+ users. Set the strategy, planned the work, and mentored a team of two SharePoint administrators. Served as the Enterprise Subject matter Expert (SME)/Architect for all facets of Microsoft 365 (M365). Led the migration from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online (M365 Government Cloud - GCC 3). Leveraged ShareGate and PnP PowerShell to migrate more than two terabytes of data from 150 site collections (containing 7,000 sub sites) to SharePoint Online. Modernized SharePoint for collaboration. Created an “Intelligent Intranet” by leveraging Microsoft’s modern information architecture. This eliminated subsites and leveraged hub sites to connect related sites with common theming, navigation along with targeted search scopes.Rewrote the SharePoint 2013 based, Legislative Tracking System (LEG) to run on SharePoint Online in time for the 87th Texas Legislative Session. Leveraging PowerApps, Power Automate, and PowerShell, created the Bill Analysis Tracking System (BATS). Using workflows and PowerShell ETL tasks, this solution enabled the Department to analyze more than 2,000 bills (and track their progress) by creating more than 10,000 division analysis tasks which contributed to more than 700 fiscal analyses being performed during the four-month long Legislative Session. -
Sharepoint Consultant (Architect/Admin Role)Texas Department Of Motor Vehicles Oct 2018 - Aug 2020Austin, Texas, UsContracted to design, build, and administer all aspects of the SharePoint Online (O365) environment (including security) for the TxDMV. • Served as the Enterprise Subject matter Expert (SME) for all facets of Microsoft 365 (M365). My first task was to create a SharePoint-based Legislative Tracking System for the 86th Legislative Session. Each Legislative Session produces thou-sands of pieces of potential legislation which must be analyzed to determine whether, and to what extent, the Agency would be affected. Built the system which gathers these Bills together; routes them throughout the Agency for analysis; up through management for approval and sends the report back to the Legislature. This was an intricate project with C-level visibility, incredibly high expectations, and tight delivery schedule (< 10 weeks).• Created intranet and extranet sites on SharePoint Online. Following the latest M365 information architecture guidance, utilized Modern Team, Communication, and Hub Sites, to create a robust, “Best Practice” based, environment which fosters internal collaboration and communication. • Create a “Modern,” SharePoint Online-based, Portal (consisting of a Hub site and 12 associated site collections) for use by TxDMV C-Level Executives, their support staff, and Agency Board Members. Agency Executives and staff use this as a collaboration space where they can create content, reports, etc. for dissemination to the Board. This solution has mark-edly improved communications between Agency Executives and their Board Members while guaranteeing that the appropriate information gets relayed and that all legal and regulatory requirements are met. • Used PowerShell and Microsoft’s SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) to migrate all TxDMV file shares from on-premises (virtualized) file servers to SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive in the Cloud. o Microsoft 365 “Global Admin” -
