Most recently in January of 2024 completed the design and build out and now running the new cell culture and molecular biology lab at Base4 Biotechnology. Our strategy with the new lab will be to high throughput screen hundreds of small molecules with specific cell lines using qPCR. Additional responsibilities include a lab manager role. Previously was a Senior Research Associate carrying out AAV Gene Therapy studies using single use bioreactors for Upstream Process Development. Previously, Principal Research Associate/Facilities Lab Manager with extensive lab experience in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Vast experience in cell line development and maintenance, gene isolation and cloning, plasmid preparation (mini and maxipreps) restriction enzyme analysis, PCR and qPCR gene expression analysis. Successful experience as lab facilities manager, skilled in maintaining a fully functioning in vitro lab including full responsibility for selection, supervision, and monitoring of lab providers and instrument maintenance. Served as Biology Safety Officer and secured compliance to internal SOPs and OSHA standards. Earned reputation as high energy, team oriented, “go to”, employee delivering data fast and reliably. Recognized leadership abilities to create a good working atmosphere through mentoring and supporting coworkers. I am a high energy, friendly, team player type of person which completely carries into my work ethic. Biotechnology is my #1 passion as well as teaching multiple fitness classes per week so my life is a perfect blend of body and mind. My scientific research had me utilizing my Molecular Biology and Cell Culture skills. I cloned genes of interest of various species including human, mouse, rat and rabbit using RT-PCR into various mammalian expression vectors and then generated stable cell lines with varying expression levels of gene of interest as well as maintained a steady stream of these recombinant cells for colleagues to be used for their various bioassays. I also screened various cell lines and tumors for multiple internal and external research groups using qPCR techniques for gene expression levels. Rounding out my technical skills was carrying out siRNA and shRNA knockdown experiments and Adenoviral and Lentiviral transduction experiments. As Lab Manager I was responsible for managing and maintaining a highly functional lab. My responsibilities were to keep all equipment running smoothly with scheduled PM and CMs, as well as staff adhering to all corporate lab processes and EH&S standards.
