Responsible for analyzing the business needs of the MicroStrategy business intelligence tools. Define high-level, functional, and detailed requirements for report development projects. Translate requirements into a design of process models, logical data requirements and work flows. Work with the business unit to design presentation formats for user interfaces, web interfaces, reports and forms. Work with programmer/analysts to ensure that data relationships and technical requirements are understood, and that the product deliverables match the requirements of the business processes and intended use. Ensure business rules are captured and executed in the proper place and time. Ensures development standards are addressed within the MicroStrategy tool. Obtain user approvals to proceed at the appropriate points in the application development process. Performs testing in conjunction with QA for accuracy and performance on new or enhanced reports. Coordinates and assists users in testing of new and enhanced applications.Provide ongoing support for the business unit. Work with the business partners to define business processes and work flows in support of business needs. Serve as primary contact for application system support and functional questions/issues, and is accountable to the business unit for overall satisfaction with all IT deliverables. Makes recommendations and implements solutions to eliminate process complexities and improve productivity.Consult with Applications Manager to establish priorities and determine correct level of involvement in the SDLC. Prepare and revise estimates in support of the project plan and schedule. Assist in managing project scope changes, providing timely resolution of project issues, and minimizing project risks. Respond to questions regarding the functionality and design of current systems and potential new systems. Develop and maintain system documentation.

Requirements Lead for the FINRA Variable Illustrations project. Worked with the business clients to gather and document the business requirements to build the Business Case, Stakeholders Profile and Requirements Definition for the project. Process Lead for the Trust and Personal Client Services replacement project. Worked with the business clients to document the processes associated with managing Trust and Personal Client Services accounts. Documented business requirements for each process. Worked with the business clients to gather and document the business requirements to convert legacy mainframe claim processing, retention management and finance reporting to reporting off of a new data warehouse using SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence. Worked through TeamSoft.

As Release Manager for Commercial Reporting systems I was responsibile for the day to day operational support for a diverse set of applications. These applications ranged from Cobol IMS DB/DC applications, to Focus and SAS reporting applications, to a Sybase data warehouse with Cognos reporting to web based client server applications. I started with a team of 12 to 14 staff and contractors in order to support these applications. The team was highly technical so in addition to the responsibility of managing the team I was the person who met with business unit clients to identify problems and opportunities to enhance the applications, documenting requirements and prioritizing the work. During this time the data warehouse and Cognos reporting was used to replace many of the Focus and SAS reporting applications allowing for the release of 6 contractors.Also during this time I was assigned to assist with a new application to measure CNH dealer performance. My responsibility was to complete the web based dealer maintenance facilities and the back end Cognos reporting. I worked with the business clients to develop test plans for the dealer maintenance which were otherwise in good shape. However, the reporting was suffering with very poor, unacceptable response time issues. After meeting with the business clients and then the develop team, I suggested database and reporting changes to alieviate the problems. Once implemented the reporting was more streamlined and exceeded business requirements.

Led project to develop a world wide unit tracking application. This project encompassed the entire SDLC process, from business requirements definition to post implementation support. The application was a mainframe, Cobol IMS DB/DC application. The application increased visibility of world wide inventory allowing for better inventory control and reduced data redundancy by eliminating inventory information in 4 different applications.Once this application went live I was given the additional responsibility to develop a data warehouse to be used to replace legacy reporting systems that were written in Focus and SAS. I met with the business clients to define the requirements, designed the data warehouse, oversaw the development of the warehouse and its interfaces and designed and developed the Cognos reporting using the information in the data warehouse. Included in the warehouse was a retail store which allowed a mainframe retail reporting application to be eliminated. Also included was a sales allowance tracking store that allowed for complicated allowance tracking reports to be created saving the company millions in allowance expense.

I was responsible for the day to day support of the accounts receivable, inventory control and marketing information applications. I had a team of 4 staff and 1 intern working for me. During this time I began a project to mechanize the dealer settlement process within the accounts receivable application allowing for online settling of a dealers account rather than sending payment through the mail. Business requirements were being gathered. The project was later completed and greatly increased cash flow for the company.

As a System Development Specialist I (SDS I) I supported the accounts receivable and inventory control applications which were mainframe Cobol IMS DB/DC applications. I held positions of increasing responsibilites ending up as a SDS IV (Group Lead). During this time I led the effort to incorporate the International Harvestor accounts receivables into the CNH accounts receivable application. I also developed a reporting solution for field reorganizations. Previously when field reorganizations occurred multiple changes were required along with a database reorganization. By changing the reporting application only table changes by the business clients were required, saving the IT department hundreds of hours per reorganization. I also led a team in the design and development of a terms and discounts sub-application and plant interfaces for a new order management application.
