Rick Power has had an exciting career at IBM. He has thrived in consulting, technical and sales roles with the company over a number of decades. The constancy in Rick's career has been bringing new ideas and new technologies to IBM's customers. Being on the leading edge of innovation is key to his current role, as is finding ways to bring those innovations to partnerships with Canadian colleges and universities. As IBM developed new products and acquired companies, Rick led sales integration within Canada for a dozen acquisitions from across a number of fields, starting with business intelligence and predictive analytics and then moving into online commerce. In 2014-15, as the Watson "evangelist" for the country, Rick crossed Canada explaining AI and its impact on the future. For the four years before moving to his current role, Rick worked exclusively with Canadian healthcare clients, driving transformation across the national healthcare system through the application of artificial intelligence and digital health. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife and their daughter and son, both of whom are in university. The family loves traveling and has visited some 30 countries in the last few years. Rick is also an incurable volunteer who feels we all have a responsibility to give back to our community.
