Today, I write crime novels.Unless you're a thriller, mystery or suspense fan or author, think twice about friending me.I began my career as a newspaper investigative reporter and evolved into a magazine editor. In 2015 I was named to the Folio 100 -- the 100 most influence people in magazine publishing--and was a finalist for editor of the year.I started two award-winning magazines and edited a third. I retired in 2018 as editor-in-chief of Leader's Edge magazine, which I launched in January 2004. Leader's Edge won more than 100 design and writing awards. It is the only magazine to win two Extra! awards--the equivalent in association publishing of the Best Picture Oscar.Today, I write novels.In 2016 I published my first thriller, NAKED AMBITION, an instant bestseller. Another, THE APPRENTICE, launched in 2017. NAKED TRUTH, the sequel to NAKED AMBITION, was published in 2018. I'm currently working on many more novel ideas. First drafts are my nemesis. But after that, I'm on a role. I love rewriting and making prose sparkle.I'm working on an anthology on how famous novelists got their start, and I write a monthly column for Crimereads.com on the same subject.
