Rick has been part of MassMutual Carolinas’ leadership team since 2015. He has been instrumental in helping with the firm’s office expansion and presence in Wilmington. Originally from New York, Rick moved to Wilmington after 15 years in the event planning and entertainment industry. Wanting to continue to work with people and to be entrepreneurial, he made a career change to the financial services industry in 2006.He started at Mutual of Omaha where he served as an advisor and then sales manager, and built an award-winning office. His hard work and efforts there earned him a Field Management award for multiple years and a GAMA Front Line Leader award. He then joined MassMutual Carolinas where he oversees the firm’s Wilmington office and is responsible for recruiting, training and retaining financial professionals. He specializes in working with podiatrists, as well as coaching and providing bilingual services for his clients.One of the most rewarding aspects of Rick’s leadership role is having an opportunity to help financial professionals and advisors reach their full potential; coaching people through difficult decisions; and helping people make decisions that are in their best interest and that they would not make on their own. “My clients’ ‘Why’ is more important than mine,” says Rick.A native of Long Island, NY, Rick graduated from SUNY Farmingdale University with a degree in Advertising Art and Design. He also gives back to the community personally and professionally. Rick is a former president of the Wilmington NAIFA Chapter, serves on the board of Hands & Feet MassMutual Carolinas Care Team and is involved with Bikes for Kids. In his spare time, he enjoys being a hip-hop historian and a DJ, dancing, and honing his graphic arts skills with cartoons and illustrations. Rick, his wife, two kids and dog reside in Wilmington.
