I also provide national security expertise to a local news network.During my Navy career, I commanded two Navy helicopter squadrons; USS BATAAN, an 840 foot amphibious assault ship; and Expeditionary Strike Group TWO, responsible for the training and deployment of all the Navy’s east coast amphibious forces, comprised over 20 units and 10,000 Sailors.I served for more than four years as an admiral conducting strategy and policy development on the Joint Staff and at U.S. Northern Command/North American Aerospace Defense Command, where I developed innovative strategies, risk assessment processes and international relationships for the defense of North America. As the Navy’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response and Suicide Prevention Officer, I developed and implemented a Sexual Assault and Prevention and Response Strategy and measures to reduce the risk of suicide. During my tenure as Inspector General, I implemented process improvements, organizational changes and increased resources to effectively accomplishment the vital investigation and assessment responsibilities.
