It was October 17, 1999. I was a nervous but determined youngling who set out on the path to becoming a Life Insurance Advisor. Warning: I’m now going to do that extremely annoying thing that parents do when they recount the days when they ‘crossed fields barefoot and then trudged across the river’’ to get to school… Back then, I would get on a small wooden boat to cross Dubai Creek, all suited up. I’d get off on the other side and walk to a bus station. I’d take a bus to one of Dubai’s many business districts step into those big, shiny office towers, to sell Life Insurance door-to-door. Sneaking past security if I had to (and being bodily thrown out once as a result). The next 24 years have been marked by a whole variety of ‘knocks’: Knocks on doors as I went cold-selling Life Insurance. Knockdowns as I got rejected. And sometimes I knocked my own socks off when I hit what I now know are major milestones: my first sale, my first five-figure check, my first business venture, my first business exit, my first million-dollar-revenue year. As of the date of writing this, my team and I are on track to hit our first Billion Dollars of Life Cover (that we have sold and are responsible for.) At my lowest along this journey, I was pouring 80-hour weeks into a business I would eventually exit. But those valleys were amongst some humbling peaks, including qualifying for MDRT for 20 years, and the prestigious Top of the Table for the last 17 years. Today, I am introduced as the Founder of Successio Global, a financial consulting and coaching firm and a Life Insurance Advisor specializing in solutions for Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) entrepreneurs.
