About Rick Spinos

I help businesses unlock the hidden potential of their financial reserves. I do so by using cash value life insurance. I do so in a way that’s smarter, safer, and more effective. Life insurance is not only for protection. Today's policies offer growth, liquidity, and leveraging the power of stable financial tools. My team and I work with business owners who want to put their company's cash reserves to work in a smarter way. We do that by placing their cash reserves into a financial vehicle that does more than sit in a bank account. earning little to no interest. We design strategies that amplify returns while ensuring protection against market risks. Our approach leverages a mix of Whole Life and Indexed Universal Life (IUL) policies. Both types of coverage offer safety, stability, and consistent growth.Traditional approaches like "Buy Term, Invest the Rest" have their place, but they leave a lot on the table. Our strategy helps your money grow while it remains accessible. It keeps working even while you use it. You can use it to cover emergencies. You can invest in growth, or seize new opportunities, you stay in control.Besides growing wealth, businesses can use these policies to offer valuable employee benefits. Permanent life insurance provides a death benefit and builds cash value. We use these features to create a win-win scenario where both the company and the employee come out ahead. The important part is how we structure these policies. We do so by introducing a line of credit. This line of credit allows businesses to access the cash value of their policies at any time. Best of all they can do so without reducing its earning potential. It’s the same principle banks use to profit from your deposits but we put you in the driver’s seat. Our strategy combines the strengths of Whole Life and Indexed Universal life. Whole life is reliable, consistent and IUL provides market potential, downside protection. This approach allows us to mitigate risk and increase returns even during volatile times.Skills:Wealth managementCash value whole life insuranceTerm life insuranceMedicare supplemental plansLife insurance planningIndexed Universal lifeLiving Benefit life insuranceAccidental life insuranceDisability life insuranceLong-term care InsuranceBusiness StrategyKey Man insuranceBusiness PlanningLeadership developmentI’d love to connect and explore how this strategy could fit your business. • Symmetry Financial Group
Life Insurance Specialist | Mortgage Protection | Critical Period | Final Expense | Disability
Symmetry Financial Group Sep 2018 - Present
    Phoenix, Arizona, United States
Independent life insurance field underwriter, agent & broker.Symmetry Financial Group is the IMO (Insurance marketing organization) that I began my life insurance career with. I love the culture of the organization. SFG, as us associates call it provides structure for independent agents like me and over 4,000 others to build our own agency. The main requirements to reach agency status is to have a team with at least 6 associates, 4 of whom the agent must onboard personally. A minimum of business called production must be met for 3 months in order to qualify. However, an agent and his team of 6 associates can easily surpass this requirement by writing less than 5 policies per month. Upon reaching agency status, SFG grants the agent a permanent contract of ownership. The founders and C-suite members encourage agents to build their own agencies within the organization. But if an agent prefers to remain as a producer, there is no pressure to start an agency. SFG affords me access & convenience of their relationship with the top life insurance carriers in the nation. They pay the fees for contracting with each carrier and handle all the paperwork. The supporting structure SFG provides me as an insurance consultant, helps me help my clients get the most coverage they can afford. Not only that I can help them get the least amount of coverage that will do the job they need their coverage to do. I help families maximize protection and quality of life while minimizing expense and budget strain. I also afford them the ease of not having to worry about policy changes. I do that for them. No more endless waiting on the phone for service representatives to answer your call. SFG provides me the tools to help folks with diverse needs for coverage. Whether the need is for mortgage protection, term life insurance or whole life, SFG helps me fit the bill. Not to mention, universal and variable life and annuity products. We do those as well.

  • National Life Group
Life Insurance Living Benefits Specialist | Living Benefits Term Life | Retirement Focus Plans
National Life Group Aug 2019 - Present
    West Richland, Washington, United States
I work with many life insurance companies, but National Life Group stands out for its Living Benefits options. Their Accelerated Benefits Riders (ABRs) are a key feature. These riders, which come at no extra cost, let you access part or all your policy’s death benefit while you’re still alive. This can be a lifesaver if you face a serious illness, like cancer, or even Alzheimer’s disease. Plus, there are no restrictions on how you use these funds.National Life Group also offers term life insurance with two choices. One with a fixed premium and another where premiums increase as you get older. This flexibility helps you pick a plan that fits your budget and needs. For whole life insurance options, National Life Group provides a policy that covers you for your entire life with stable premiums. Over time, this policy builds cash value that you can use while you’re alive. Remember, any loans you take from this value will reduce the death benefit. If you’re interested in universal life insurance, National Life Group has several types. Their universal life policies give you more control over death benefits and premiums. The main difference between these types is how the cash value is invested. Indexed universal life policies follow a market index. Variable universal life policies are invested in various stocks, bonds, and other funds based on your preferences.National Life Group might not offer as many riders as some other companies but again, their Living Benefits features are the best in the industry. It lets you access benefits early if you have a serious illness or need long-term care. This can be a huge help during tough times. With a history dating back to 1848, National Life Group is known for its stability and experience. While not the biggest company, its long track record speaks to its reliability and expertise in the insurance field.

  • Igreja Videira
    Regional Base Executive Director
    Igreja Videira Nov 2014 - Nov 2015
    Redmond, Washington
In November 2014, my family left the warm steamy climate of Southern Florida for the Pacific Northwest. We had been serving as the English network leadership team at The Vine Church, Florida. Our calling led us to Redmond, Washington, to serve at The Vine Seattle. There we were to guide the church through a pivotal transition to English services. This was a family mission. My wife and daughter-in-law dedicated themselves to working with the children’s ministry. My son and my wife also led the worship team. Together, we worked to support the growth and transformation of those ready to embrace new opportunities.I took on several roles that challenged and stretched my leadership abilities. I assumed responsibility for the church planting school. There I had the privilege of mentoring and equipping new leaders. Preaching and teaching were central to my ministry. These activities allowed me to inspire and encourage the congregation with biblical truths. After my first year in Seattle, I expanded my focus by taking on the leadership of the small group ministry. This allowed me to invest more in building authentic relationships within the community. The plan was to help people connect, grow, and support one another in their faith journeys. After a year in Seattle, my family made a significant decision to return to my home town of Phoenix, Arizona. , where I was born and raised. This marked a transitional period in my life. For the first time in years, I stepped back from full-time pastoral ministry. This shift wasn’t about leaving ministry altogether, but about finding new ways to make an impact. I transitioned into the world of entrepreneurship. I purchased a franchise business of in home tutoring called "Tutor Doctor.' Tutor Doctor allowed me to use my teaching skills by helping students and their families reach educational success. Each phase of my life has been a testament to the importance of adaptability, servant leadership, and faith, regardless of the context.
  • Igreja Videira
    Director Of English Speaking Network
    Igreja Videira Oct 2011 - Nov 2014
    Pompano Beach, Forida
In October 2011, I moved my family from Brazil to Southern Florida. At the invitation of The Vine Florida. The mission was to help transition the church to an English format. This was a big step, for us. It meant reimagining how we could do ministry in a multilingual, multicultural environment.I was responsible for teaching seminary courses. I preached to the core Brazilian audience and English-speaking attendees. One of my key responsibilities was overseeing the English small group network. This included training leaders and organizing groups.A significant part of my work involved developing outreach projects. These projects were to engage the broader community in Southern Florida. We organized several outreach activities on the beautiful beaches of the region. We conducted beach cleanups helping us establish a visible and positive presence in the community. We also hosted freeze mobs: spontaneous, public displays that grabbed peoples attention. These activities provided unique opportunities to share the gospel in creative ways. The most moving were the public baptisms on crowded beaches. One of the outreach projects closest to my heart was the publication of a book called There Is More to Life. It was part of an initiative to engage the church's youth network in the ministry. We set up a Facebook group, printed T-shirts for the youth, and encouraged them to take ownership of the message. The energy and excitement around this project were contagious. It proved to be a significant tool for outreach.I translated the church planting curriculum from Portuguese to English. I also translated and published the new members’ course and the leadership training course. I also published the small group leaders’ course. These materials are available on Amazon for wider distribution. These years mark a time of great personal and professional growth for me and my family. The lessons I learned continue to inform how I approach both ministry and entrepreneurship today.
  • Igreja Videira
    Founder/Director
    Igreja Videira Oct 1991 - Oct 2011
    Macapá, Amapá, Brazil
In October 1991, my wife and I, along with our two young children took a leap of faith and moved to Amapá, Brazil, north of the mouth of the Amazon River. Our mission was to establish a base for Project Amazon. PAZ was a church-planting mission focused on spreading the gospel along the vast, untamed regions of the Amazon, Tapajós, and Xingu rivers. It was a time of great adventure, challenge, and growth for our family. We began our work in the capital city of Macapá. Our initial efforts centered on evangelizing the local neighborhoods. We knocked on doors, and started conversations with people in their own homes. From that humble beginning, we saw God work in mighty ways. We planted churches both for Project Amazon and The Vine International.Beyond church planting, my wife and I felt a call to reach even more people through the airwaves. Together, we launched a Christian radio program called Overcomer on the Air. The program gained traction and became the most listened-to station in the area. It allowed us to share the message of Christ with a broader audience and became a beacon of hope for many in the region. Our ministry wasn't confined to only preaching and teaching. We believed in engaging the community in all aspects of life. We hosted seminars at the local theater in partnership with the Jesus Project. We also organized music concerts featuring our Christian worship band.We were able to cultivate strong relationships with local authorities. I developed connections with the state governor, city councilmen, and state senators. My wife and I accompanied the governor and his staff on an exploratory trip in his airplane to visit Project Amazon. We gave his staff a tour of the children's school program. It was a great opportunity to witness the intersection of faith and government support. We also hosted a church-planting school via parabolic antenna. This helped us expand our reach beyond Amapá and equipping leaders in more remote areas.
  • Paz Church
    Nautical Engineer
    Paz Church Jan 1984 - Oct 1991
    Santarém, Pará, Brazil
I joined Project Amazon in Santarém, Brazil in February of 1983. I led the design, fabrication and launch of 40, 30 ft. steel family houseboats. I also led a construction team of American and Canadian volunteers who helped build a 46 ft. yacht and two 74 ft. hospital ships. These vessels transported volunteer teams of doctors and dentists. These teams donated time and expertise to meet the river villager's medical and dental needs. My team built the 30 ft. houseboat for Brazilian national volunteers. Most of these volunteers were young families. They lived in these boats traveling along the more than 40,000 river villages strewn along the Amazon and Tapajós rivers. These families served the spiritual, medical and physical needs of the river communities. Most of these communities still have no medical or dental facilities. No running water or electricity, only fuel powered generators. These years were some of the most rewarding years of my life. I learned a ton of things about nautical engineering, welding and cutting-edge technology in steel boat building.I got the chance to pilot U.S. press teams to film documentaries about life in the Amazon Basin. The Arizona Republic even printed an article about my work, calling me the sun-bronzed adventurer. I got to go underwater spear fishing for peacock bass. I once speared two bass with one shot. I shared the river with swarms of piranha. Even speared some. I learned that if they are well fed they don't attack humans. Good thing, I didn't know they were piranha. I also came face to face with electric eels, river dolphins and stingrays.I ate horse meat, boa constrictor, armadillo, turtle, monkey, iguana tail and alligator. I had pets, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys, agoutis, a sloth I thought was a monkey, baby alligators, Macaws and green parrots.. . . best of all, married the love of my life, still with me after 39 years. Plus she gave me two sons, who gave me daughters-in-law one of which gave me a granddaughter.

Home Construction Framer | Tract Homes & Apartment Building Complexes
Sage Construction Llc Jul 1982 - Nov 1983
    Phoenix, Arizona
From 1982 to 1984, I worked as part of a dedicated framing crew with Sage Construction Company. My work focused on building tracked homes in Glendale, Arizona. I was responsible for framing single family residential properties as well as apartment complex unit. As a framer, I played a hands-on role in shaping the homes from the ground up. I contributed as part of a crew that blended several technical skills, physical endurance, and teamwork. Our team of five framers tackled every phase of the framing process. I framed walls, put up sheetrock, and laid the trusses for roofing. The collaborative nature of our work allowed us to streamline the construction process. We spent only two days to frame an entire three-bedroom home. Looking back, this role laid a literal and figurative foundation for my future endeavors in business. It taught me that any structure, whether a house or a company, is only as strong as the team behind it.
