Rick is an experienced consultant specialising in risk, crisis and emergency management, training development, and strategic learning management. He has more than 30 years’ experience in adult education and facilitation, with over 20 years’ experience in emergency management at state and national level, including ten years as the Training Manager for the NSW SES and five years as the Principal Planning and Operations Officer for the NSW State Emergency Management Committee, where he was responsible for all state-level emergency plans.Since founding Tigertail Australia in 2010, Rick has worked with a range of clients including complex infrastructure owners and operators, state government departments in NSW, the ACT, Victoria and the NT; the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, the National Oil Supply Emergency Committee and the Australian Energy Market Operator. He has successfully designed and delivered leadership training, incident management training, and emergency exercises at strategic and tactical level, including testing senior leadership teams in public and private sector organisations.Rick is a serving officer in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve, previously working part of the leadership and culture development team, as Aide de Camp to the NSW Governor and recently completed a posting as a Watch Commander at the ADF COVID-19 Joint Task Force Headquarters. He is an accredited Human Synergistics LSI practitioner and organisational coach.
