As the sole owner, Richard oversees the operational, financial and administrative necessities of the business. With his experience and intimate knowledge of how Starbucks operates, Richard has the responsibility of managing the pace of NW Facilities expansion and evolving the growth and success of the business.As a management style, Richard creates and cultivates a culture of discipline within the team. He teaches employees how to use problem-solving tools to identify and resolve the underlying causes of dysfunction, permitting the improvement of process within the business. He maintains an approachable learning environment that allows team members to feel included and able to contribute positively to the team, the process and the business as a whole.Specialties: Using Lean principles and tools to problem solve and get to route-cause. Creating a detailed plan. Use of technology, data and analytics to track improvement, adjust and drive teams towards perfection. Focus on removing waste, removing extreme highs and lows to create consistency, efficiencies that allow for incremental improvement over time. My drive is always drawn from teaching to solve the puzzle of lowering cost, improving quality thru discipline people and discipline action.
