Spinning off an an early success in the early social networking space -- the Glowfoto image sharing network, in association with MySpace -- Rick founded Glowdot Productions, Inc., an interactive and creative boutique with offices in Santa Monica, CA and Stockholm. With over two decades working in software development and project management he has led teams that created digital marketing tools and platforms for companies such as Accenture, Disney, Dreamworks, Viacom, Warner Bros, SEGA, Circle of Confusion, U.S. Air National Guard, CBC, Sonos and more.Rick's decades long experience touches mobile software development, desktop software, web and Internet applications, gaming, and yes, even AI. Indeed, Rick's masters thesis, "Hebbian Learning in Multilayer Neural Networks", introduced a few novel approaches to neural network training in 2007.Since 2002, Rick has led teams building business centered games, social media platforms, and mobile app projects for some of the highest profile clients, including Accenture, Disney, Warner Bros. and Sonos, designing and developing apps, games and software to serve the business needs of Fortune 50 companies, by delighting, inspiring and connecting people through technology. Rick's work has been covered by TechCrunch, The Guardian, The New York Times, and many more.After 10 years leading Glowdot, Rick co-founded Graphite Comics, and served as CTO and platform architect for five years, taking Graphite from inception, through several fundraising rounds (Mucker Capital, BAM Ventures), to official launch at San Diego Comic Con in 2019. Graphite's launch, and notably the first-in-class recommendation engine designed and developed by Rick, was covered by the New York Times.He then spent 4 years at Caffeine, a Series D (A16Z, Greylock, 21st Century Fox) social live streaming platform that delivered live, interactive content at the intersection of gaming, sports, and entertainment, serving as a Principal Engineer.Currently, Rick is a Principal Engineer at Fox, working on the launch of Venu, a joint sports streaming venture between Fox, Disney, ESPN and Warner Bros. Rick studied Mathematics (BS) at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Computer Science (MS) at CSULA. He has done additional graduate study in Computer Science at UCLA, and film production at Chapman University.
