Software developer and in-house technical consultant, working primarily with data communications systems and HL7 (Health Level 7) interfaces for hospitals, doctors'​ offices and test labs, and in-house ticket tracking systems for purchasing and internal technical service requests. Analyzed, redesigned, and ported the department's undocumented billing and medical communications systems from home-brew Perl to well-documented and maintainable Corepoint applications. Implemented license-free Ghostscript PDF printing and file management to allow inclusion of PDFs in HL7 messages via integration with Corepoint. Following a catastrophic server meltdown, re-implemented the server and the department's RT ticketing system for purchasing, IT support, and Personal Genomic Medicine, including the web front ends for all. Developed detailed recurring/automated reports on messaging and medical stats. Perl, C, C++, PHP, HL7, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS, MySQL, Eclipse, electronic health records, Ghostscript, low-level PDF file processing and printing, MS Exchange and Apache on Windows, FreeBSD and Linux.3rd party products: Corepoint Integration Engine - design, configure, and run HL7 interfaces for EMR; Request Tracker (RT) - open source Perl issue tracking system.
