Co-founded and ran a small app development studio with clients ranging from large pharmaceutical companies to 1-person startups. Along with my co-founder, I was responsible for all day-to-day operations including business development, client success, and requirements gathering. Also lead architecture and development of dozens of apps for iOS, Android, The Cloud, and custom-built Kiosks and Touch Screens. Congress Concierge for Otsuka America PharmaceuticalSaved hundreds of thousands of dollars by bringing an outdated vendor-supplied platform in-house. We built a new cloud-native platform from the ground up that achieved unprecedented user satisfaction for the team. I lead the design and implementation of an offline-first mobile architecture supported by micro services in order to deliver a seamless team collaboration experience even in the most unpredictable network conditions. We delivered this application on time with a surprisingly small team and continued to support and develop new features for multiple years after initial launch.2. Guitar TunesLead the architecture and implementation of this wide ranging, performance-critical, and deeply technical project to bring a consumer device company into the mobile era. We adapted their proprietary Audio and Video file formats for use on lower-power mobile devices and The Cloud. I lead the effort to research, design, and implement:- A new file audio and video formats- Playback of the new format on mobile with millisecond precision timing of parallel media assets- Serverless content subscription system- Custom Bluetooth device integration for iOS and Android- Ground-up build of a proprietary DRM format capable of decoding audio and video files in realtime on iOS and Android.- Secure In-App purchases on the App Store and Play Store using serverless purchase authorization

I developed some of the first Enterprise iPad apps used in the pharmaceutical sales industry for brands like Sanofi and Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. I continually pushed the capabilities of iPad and iOS to deliver multimedia solutions including interactive video and real-time 3D using Unity 3D for iOS. Clients also included Amsted Industries, Neuro, and Andrew McMeel Universal.

Recognized for my ability to innovate quickly with new technologies and apply them to client needs, I was embedded in the business development unit focusing primarily on Tablet PC and Social Media solutions. I consulted with internal and external stakeholders, built demos, pitched, and presented directly to clients like Astra Zeneca and Sanofi. I was also responsible for leading the implementation of projects after winning the business.

Built multimedia web sites and kiosks using Adobe Flash. Also assisted with business development efforts as a technical liason.

I interned under a masterful sysadmin and learned great deal about running Unix systems. Duties ranged from running Cat-5 cable to maintaining production web and database servers. For the most part, I fixed the engineers workstations when they broke.I later returned to E-Markets as a consultant to do systems integration and web development on a freelance basis.

I started building web sites for clients at the dawn of the commercial internet. During high school and college I built web sites for several real estate firms in central Iowa. My first paying client was a local RE/MAX office when I was 16 years old. Major accomplishments included faxing Network Solutions to purchase a domain name, teaching the office manager how to user Dreamweaver and FTP, procurement of a digital camera that used 3.5" floppy disks so that image transfer was easy for office staff, and charging more per hour than I was selling PCs at Best Buy.
