In my first years at SECRID, I mainly focused on scaling up production; devised production processes for sheltered workshops, optimised the CNC-controlled stitching process, but also developed hand tools, pneumatic assembly devices, means of transport, etc.In addition, a lot of POS (Point of Sales) has been developed, whereby the modular concept can be supplied to retailers in various variants. A basis was then created for a language of form and materialisation, which can still be seen in today's furniture construction.For several years as Sr. Product Engineer and Project Leader, engaged in product development in which product innovation is key. In addition to concept development and engineering of parts, I really enjoy focusing on interesting production techniques and sourcing new production partners.

At ATC I participate within a team of Engineers who is responsible for the development of Compact Valve Actuators for the Offshore Industry. This includes; modelling component, creating dimensional drawings, parts list and the evaluation of torque test results. I am also involved in elaborating hydraulic and pneumatic control panels / cabinets, which actually drives the Actuator. Furthermore I create various visualisations for sales purposes, like the General Arrangement Drawings, Exploded Views, 3D renders and animations with use of Inventor Showcase.

Rotterdam Area, Netherlands

Designed a range of innovative, high-end underwater products such as cameras, LED-lights, Pan&Tilt and video controllers. Engineering of LUXUS related parts in CAD, creating Bill of Materials, and Dimensional Drawings for fabrication purposes. In the mean while also elaborating a lot of client specific product developments; Release System, Camera Drop System, LED-lights, Casting Moulds and Junction Boxes. Making virtual 3D product appearances (CAD Rendering / Animations) and physical Prototypes (CNC / 3D-printed).

Delft Area, Netherlands

I continued my Graduation project “Stand-by Mobility Device for Local Purposes”, which can be best imagined as some sort of foldable transportation tricycle, internally at the Delft University of Technology which offered me a workspace at the Delft Design Institute (DDI). The result is a detailed CAD SolidWorks model, which embodied both aesthetics and functionality. Furthermore the functionality of the design was validated by means of an ergonomic prototype.

The Hague Area, Netherlands

Corners and Curves offered me the opportunity to start up a graduation project at their office. Initially the idea was to develop a new kind of (commuting) bicycle. However, I started this project with an extensive market research regarding trends in mobility, current products in the market and the mobility needs of consumers.During this period I spent a lot of time on literature studies, field studies and other analyses in order to spot a market segment with high potential. The graduation project "Standby Mobility Device for Local Purposes" was born, and the idea was taking shape during the project’s concept phase. Although the project initially was in cooperation with Corners and Curves during the design process it was decided to continue product development at the Delft University of Technology.

After a 6-month internship period at Spark I decided to continue my work activities as a Jr. Industrial Designer at this company. This gave me the opportunities to search for, and plan my graduation project.

Within my internship at the Spark Design & Innovation office I participated in different projects, doing different activities. As an intern I was mostly doing the diverging design tasks, like idea generation, formgiving, modelling, prototyping and testing. Doing this internship was the most exiting, fun and instructive thing I did during my education as an industrial designer.
