About Rick Williams

I have worked in the Information Technology (IT) industry for more than 20 years. I started as a undergraduate student at Lipscomb University in 2000. During my freshman year of college, with just $300 in my pocket, I founded my first company out of my dorm room: Techopoly, Inc.As a young, self-motivated entrepreneur, I printed a big sign that said “On-Site Computer Repair” and made my first $40 installing a new floppy disk drive into a computer. (You remember floppy disks, right?)Following my time at Lipscomb, I hit the ground running, moving my fledgling company into the “Break-Fix” IT support space. Techopoly supported companies that were hiring out managed IT services all across the Middle Tennessee Region. Finally, in 2012, I hung up my cape and sold Techopoly to a bigger, Nashville-based IT company.I understand the challenges of running a small business, because we’ve been in your shoes. I have been in the IT business for a long time, and during that time there have been some hard-learned lessons. These experiences have given me a deep-rooted conviction to be uncompromisingly dependable and transparent with our clients. We love what we do, and our primary goal will always be to empower small business owners with the tools to operate quickly, efficiently, and reliably. At CloudSmartIT, we help companies from a wide breadth of industries and sectors realize the financial value of “the cloud.” We help our clients handle their IT more efficiently by helping move their infrastructure to the cloud. Many of our clients choose us over traditional managed service providers for precisely that reason: we’re more efficient! With the use of state-of-the-art Data Migration and Windows Virtual Desktop, we make the cloud easier, and more cost effective than ever before. And this is something that we take great pride in!
