Worked at the Sherwin-Williams Breen Technology Center as a chemistry Intern. Created approximately 100 different formulas and tested for standardization of the formula. Then worked on creating a new test method to measure the dry time of paint after it is a applied. Worked with a team of chemists to improve the open time of the paint. Also was given a personal project to attempt to replace the petroleum in paint with bio-renewable sources. Worked on several methods to incorporate bio-friendly products into paint while maintaining the Sherwin-Williams paints standards of excellence. Worked with analytical chemists to study the stress and strain of bio-friendly paints.

Worked in the test lab to document all current testing machines. Created CAD drawings of any missing machinery. Researched company catalogs and purchasing orders in order to fill out a BOM for all parts in the test lab so as to ensure repeatability of the tests at Ridge Tool’s international sites. Updated the test labs documentation website to eliminate all ghost files of tests that were canceled but not removed from their database. Created documentation of corrugated packaging by measuring ~420 corrugated cartons and properly documenting the existing corrugated product line by creating CAD drawings of all cartons. Also was instrumental in creating a CAD template for cartons and helped to establish carton documentation procedures which were adopted by the company. Entered key product information into TeamCenter product data management system. Created the design of a new carton with several inserts for a new RIDGID product being produced in their China facility. This design performance was validated through drop testing and vibration testing and went into the production design. Assisted Packaging Engineer with various other projects and gained basic knowledge of the Solid Edge CAD software.
