Ever since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed understanding how things work. Whether it was learning about gravity in physics class, or cell reproduction in biology, I found science fascinating. When I took my first computer science class, I realized that my interest in science could be coupled with creativity to build something new. It started with building things out of my enjoyment and interest (i.e. Lego Robots, simple video games, etc.), and has led me to realizing how much software can impact the world around me.In my career, I work towards elevating stakeholders and teammates to their highest potential while also producing quality software solutions. AMEND is passionate about lifting up its clients, so that they don't need us ever again. My job is to bring experience in software development to the solutions we drive to our customers.Outside of work, I have the privilege of working with high school and middle school students by running computer science clubs for them after school. One of my favorite moments from this past year was when a student told me that the club I was running was his "favorite part of the week." I am so grateful to be guiding passionate kids who are so eager to learn.There is still so much to learn in my field, and I am looking forward to that - as well as passing along the knowledge to the next generation.

Tech Outreach VolunteerHyland Sep 2018 - Mar 2020Westlake, Oh, UsOne of my favorite parts about Hyland is its tech outreach program. Through this program, I am able to teach students ranging from middle school to high school about a variety of different technology topics. Last semester, I was able to work with a small group of kids on some self chosen capstone projects. The one I spent the most time with was a project revolving around an online dungeons and dragons game built with bootstrap as a front-end framework. This semester, I've actually had the opportunity to go to a school in Cleveland to run a Lego robotics club after school. -
Developer 1Hyland Jul 2018 - Mar 2020Westlake, Oh, UsI work on enterprise file sync and share product called ShareBase, where I have mostly worked on our front-end web application built with AngularJS. More recently, however, I've been developing our backend .NET framework application where I have been involved in making our platform more secure for our users. Along with this, I have been working on projects to automate much of our deployment process. I've also been heavily involved with our developer operations initiatives such as adopting Jenkins as a build agent, and Octopus Deploy as an automated deployment tool. In this, I've successfully removed the need to manually update configuration for our software when we deploy.

In this team, I work on the web development team where I am building a component of the ShareBase web client. Along with this, I have integrated ShareBase with a application syncing platform called Zapier to make automation among ShareBase clients easier. Along with this, I won second place at the intern hackathon building an Angular2 application to make searching easier within ShareBase.

Mobile Application DeveloperBuckets Sep 2016 - Feb 2017Buckets is a start up run by students at Ohio State University. The problem that we saw among our peers was that it was often difficult to sell goods that other college kids could definitely use (textbooks, sports tickets, etc.) and also to find goods that they needed for school. On top of this, the sources they were using were often inconvenient and unsafe. Because of this, we developed a marketplace mobile application for students to exchange goods safely and effectively on college campuses. My role in this organization was to build a mobile application for couriers who are delivering sold goods on our marketplace.

Software Development InternBattelle May 2016 - Sep 2016Columbus, Ohio, UsI worked on the Chemical Terrorism Risk Assessment, which is a software tool that provides modeling data on the risk associated with certain chemicals being released in certain areas. To support this application, I implemented an automated updater coded in Java for any new data that was received for the software tool's parameters. I also created a SQL database to hold the data for this program in order to begin the transition from using configuration files to having the program read straight from the database. -
