Colleagues describe him as "I was extremely fortunate to be introduced to Ricky Shi through a mutual contact and, upon realising quite how talented he was, I immediately hired him, in June 2020, to be my intern for my company Oxford Global Education Consultancy. After just a few days of working for me I realised he was incredibly bright, professional, hard-working and utterly trustworthy. From a website point of view, and talking technical ability, there was almost nothing he could not do and the things that were out of the norm he taught himself how to do and could do them almost the next hour! I knew that this level of natural ability is rare and is even more rare in one so young. Ricky has fabulous interpersonal skills and is able to relate to people his own age and much older. I studied English and French literature at Oxford University, a very long time ago, and am a natural technophobe; Ricky was able to make me feel completely comfortable and confident in a way that most technologically able people cannot do. His optimism and can-do spirit were infectious and gave me hope that all would be well. Ricky displays a maturity that belies his years and is able to anticipate what is needed even before people realise that they need it. This is truly a gift and one that he has both naturally, and has developed over many years of enthusiastic computer study. Not only is he a great self-starter, who can work using his own initiative, he is also a valuable team player and can work collaboratively with people from different countries and walks of life. He is able to lead, guide, and instruct whilst remaining patient and retaining a sense of humour. He is obviously incredibly gifted in many ways and it has been a privilege working with him.
