As a lifelong learner, my passion lies in driving innovation within schools and inspiring my students to develop a love for technology. I firmly believe in empowering students to harness their imaginations and achieve meaningful learning experiences through hard work, determination, and self-motivation. To achieve this vision, I am committed to implementing STEAM initiatives that instill a passion for learning and technology in all my students.In my role, innovation is a top priority, and I constantly strive to expand educational horizons by integrating cutting-edge technologies. Rather than following others' paths, I encourage our department to lead the way by pioneering innovative programs and practices. Working closely with my team, I share my expertise through team teaching, offering guidance on effective teaching strategies, and providing unwavering support to staff members, especially those new to technology or the teaching profession.During my tenure as HOD Technologies & Innovation, my focus extended beyond enhancing our department's technology capabilities. I dedicated myself to enhancing the technical skills of students, staff, and the broader community. As the Head of Faculty, I have collaborated with my team to achieve significant milestones, including the establishment of various enriching extra-curricular activities for students, such as the Robotics Club, Human Powered Vehicle Competition, Drone Academy, VR Development, and Esports. These clubs have enabled our students to compete successfully at a high standard, both nationally and internationally.Throughout my career, I have been involved in teaching and developing resources for various subjects, currently focusing on P-10 Technologies, Digital Solutions, and Design. My affiliation with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) has given me an in-depth understanding of these subjects. In our department, we take pride in developing strong work programs and exceptional student folios, surpassing the standards of many other colleges in the SE QLD region.My commitment to an open-door policy has allowed me to build strong connections with both my students and fellow teachers. I am readily available to offer assistance and support throughout their educational journey. Additionally, I actively engage with parents, providing guidance and support within and beyond the classroom. My involvement in the technology communities of SE QLD through robotics and hosting competitions and workshops has enabled me to establish valuable relationships with industry professionals.
