Safe Haven Defense Arizona, Sold majority ownership to a US, well recognized private equity company on May 23, 2024. The company opted to continue business as Safe Haven Defense US, LLC, which remains headquartered in Phoenix. I was asked to remain with the company in this role. Through expansions and distributorship agreements, SHD is represented and able to perform work in all US States.Safe Haven Defense capabilities include manufacture and application of a proprietary security laminate to existing one quarter inch (1/4) or (3/8) glass in order to render a handgun ballistic, riot/burglar, and smash protection levels. The protection levels enable your staffs and employees time, in which to escape threats, summon assistance, or to survive an armed attack. When your facilities are not occupied, the resistance levels deter immediate entry, thus limiting inventory loss and destruction to property.Collaborated Safe Haven owners start up business to implement a project contract with the Mesa Public School District, to install security laminate on the existing glass of numerous school buildings. Conducted Business expansion into Colorado. The Laminate is UL and NIJ certified and rated to be riot/smash and bullet resistant.★ Coordinated with the school district and the contractor, overseeing the project implementation in 20+ schools with the ultimate project contract for 83 schools.I will be returning to Denver in September 2020 to conduct business development for expansion of Safe Haven Defense into Colorado

Managed offenders transitioning into the community through an array of supervision strategies, interventions, and services to instill pro-social behaviors to promote successful outcomes. Worked with Department of Corrections, Adult Parole, Community & Youthful Offenders.★ Strategized effective methods for oversight and monitoring of Interstate Parolees, including interfacing with state agencies from multiple states and their associated political representatives to facilitate interstate transfers.★ As a Parole Officer, worked with Youthful Offenders in the 3rd phase of progress from the Youthful Offender Facility to create a safe transition into a community.

In 2002, appointed as Chief of Police, to become the Executive Officer of the 600+ sworn officer Department. This role was the culmination of multiple progressively more responsible roles throughout the Aurora Police Department which began originally as a Patrol Officer in 1980. After the role of Chief of Police, I remained in the department in the roles of Captain and Commander until retiring in December 2007. A complete analysis of my career within the Aurora Police Department would show 15+ specific positions that encompassed a range of police and law enforcement areas, including Crime Scene Investigation, Internal Affairs, Uniform Patrol, Vice and Narcotics, SWAT, Metro Gang Task Force, Crimes against Persons, Delinquency Control & Family Investigations, Career Criminal, Burglary and Pawn Units, Special Operations, and more. Selected Accomplishments:★ Directed executive leadership team, consisting of Deputy Chief, 3 Division Chiefs, 1 Legal Advisor, Internal Affairs staff, Public Information specialists, and Administrative Support.★ As a Sergeant in the Criminal Investigations Unit, I researched and wrote a grant to fund a computerized tracking system of burglary crimes that I developed to enhance investigations in the Pawn Unit.★ While with the Delinquency Control and Family Investigations Unit, spearheaded the implementation of the Juvenile Serious Habitual Offender (SHO) Program, which developed an information network between agencies to enhance prosecutions in the juvenile justice system.★ As a SWAT Commander Lieutenant, led a team of specially trained officers and sergeants who provided security for dignitaries, rescue missions for officers and citizens, hostage rescue, negotiations, and execution of high-risk warrants.★ While undercover in a local high school, investigated individuals selling drugs to students, resulting in 64 arrests and the confiscation of $345,000 in drugs.

Visualized, planned, and developed academic and skills curriculum for 360-hour Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy, accepted and certified by the Peace Officers Standards and Training Board (P.O.S.T.) in August 1993. ★ Graduated multiple classes through the program, and successfully placed graduates in law enforcement agencies throughout Colorado and the Denver Metropolitan area.★ Managed $55,000 budget and oversaw staffing, training, and evaluating instructors.★ Successfully formulated, presented, and obtained an Intergovernmental Agreement between City of Aurora and Community College of Aurora, which allows for the sharing of facilities and equipment between the city and CCA.
