I facilitate success for students with behavior challenges - supporting students as they overcome obstacles and learn necessary skills to achieve their own individual goals and grow in independence. I train staff in Positive Behavioral Intervention Strategies, Data Collection, Scaffolding Academic Material, appropriate prompting techniques and fading to reach IP goals and the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans. Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I record and analyze data to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors and assist in the development of Functional Behavior Assessments. Being data-driven and holistically sensitive, I maintain detailed records, track progress, and adjust interventions as needed. I work with a diverse group of students including those with Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, social and emotional disorders, learning disabilities, and physical challenges. I collaborate with school psychologists, administrative staff, classroom teachers and paraeducators to ensure a consistent and supportive least restrictive environment where our students thrive.

At WestGate I grew from Weekend Host to Student Ministries Intern and then to Director of Junior High. As the Director, I pioneered the first organizational development effort that the program had seen by implementing leader training, outlining core values, and identifying a thematic goal. Team members responded by personally establishing individual goals which were bold yet attainable. The resulting program exceeded the goal with a three hundred percent increase in small group activity by youth. Our program saw growth through staff development, holistic care, and tremendous volunteers. I was facilitating leaders: supporting staff and volunteers to reach their potential.

I served with Young Life as a Volunteer, Team Leader, Student Staff, and Field Staff. I was a mentor for youth while training other leaders to do the same. I utilized community organizing to mobilize leaders and collaborators in creative solutions for communities. Leaders whom I have learned from, worked alongside, and trained are currently transforming communities with holistic care and dynamic outreach work.

Tema, Ghana (West Africa)

I managed a safe-house and its program as we rescued and rehabilitated children out of slavery in Ghana, West Africa. I committed to four months of pro bono service living in the facility and being on-call / on-site at all times. I developed curriculum, implemented a data tracking system, and trained staff to counsel, tutor, administer medical treatment, and teach life skills to the children. Public speaking, crisis intervention, and creative problem solving were all skills that were used on a daily basis. At City Of Refuge, we not only freed the enslaved children from bondage, but used relational community outreach to free the slave owners from their practices as well – ushering in redemption.

I was the sole facilities staff administering property management, building and grounds maintenance, and safety code compliance including fire suppression systems and emergency plans for three separate sites. I operated as a multi-team liaison managing multiple complex projects with competing deadlines and priorities. I enjoyed practicing my creative problem solving skills.
