The Place Manager-Strategic Projects is responsible for identifying and leading key transformative public and private sector projects across the City of Kingston’s network of Major and Neighbourhood Activity Centres and strategic areas of change.This position is primarily responsible for:- Scoping and project managing key strategic planning and design projects which deliver objectives outlined in Kingston’s adopted Structure Plans, Council Plan and related strategies.- Advocating for the Council’s interests in relation to key strategic infrastructure projects, such as major transport projects and major private redevelopment sites/precincts.- Proactively exploring and identifying opportunities to deliver permanent placemaking projects within key activity centres.- Identifying strategically important public and private landholdings and working with landowners (at a site or precinct scale) and other internal departments to develop visions for key land uses and development outcomes.

Design Excellence Network for Local Government is a group of architects, urban designers and landscape architects from local government with a focus on supporting and promoting good design for the built environment. The purpose of the group is to advance the value and delivery of Design Excellence in all aspects of the built environment within local government in Victoria.

This role focuses on developing visionary, practical and robust urban design policies, urban design analysis, preparing and coordinating urban context reports, urban design and public realm strategies, concept masterplans, urban design frameworks. Contributing and coordinating with other relevant strategic planning staff in the design and delivery of civic improvement projects for activity areas. Managing project budgets and timelines against corporate requirements and commitments. In this role, Ric also provides effective expert advice on urban design proposals applying knowledge of best practice architecture and urban design and existing urban design principles. Provide design critique and directions for public and private developments. Represent the department and advocate at a senior level to improve the quality of design in Casey.Ric also frequently collaborates with other teams and departments to plan a long-term program of strategic projects and deliverable actions for submission input into the capital works program.

Led the newly formed City Design Team through the time of organisational transformation. Establish the new team portfolio, consisting of capital work projects and strategic projects. Lead the team members and projects to navigate the organisation transformation while the permanent team leader position is being appointed, and prepare the team for handover to the new team leader.

The Senior Planning and Design Coordinator provides a range of complex coordination and program management services to support the briefing and subsequent design development and review processes for new facilities, landscaped and refurbishments within the public realm on Monash University campuses. This role is a critical liaison point between the portfolio, University and internal and external customers, and collaborates closely with partners such as senior colleagues, stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure successful completion of the team’s objectives.My role provides innovative specialists, strategic advice to influence, engage with and support the Division in the area of design quality and innovation. This includes undertaking design research, developing new frameworks and policies and ensuring design principles and directions are upheld through to project delivery.

My role at the City of Casey Council includes developing visionary, practical and robust urban design policies and guidelines, urban design analysis and providing urban design referral comments, contributing to the preparation of urban context reports, urban design strategies, concept, master plans and urban design frameworks, in particular, Casey’s Employment Land Design Guide. Providing practical expert advice on urban design proposals applying knowledge of best practice architecture and urban design and existing urban design principles. Develop, manage and deliver urban design initiatives to enhance the future livability and image of the City of Casey. Provide graphic support to the division.

During the time I'm working as the in house urban planner, my role includes providing urban design advice throughout the design process and provided statutory planning consultation to the project team and clients. Master-planning multiple greenfield and brownfield sites across Victoria. Planning application / VCAT hearing documentation preparation. And I was negotiating with responsible authorities and objectors through the planning process.Apart from planning related role, my job also includes architectural design for various types of developments (Incl. Concept design, drawing documentation, 3D modelling, rendering, etc.). Provide graphic design and presentation material preparation.The role also includes business administration related duties, which include but not limited to project management and project leading. Consultants and stakeholder coordination. Client relationship management. Leading office design teams and training staff members.

Urban Design Studio tutor for Deakin University’s Teaching in Practice program. The role includes guideline the students through the semester, teaching urban design principles, communicate with the university in teaching methods to provide students with the best learning outcome, and also be part of the critique panel to assess students’ presentation.

Position involves processing files from students and university staff members from a digital format into physical objects by operating laser cutter, card cutters and 3D printers. Other responsibilities include student consultation on technical problems, customer services and printing space maintenance and troubleshooting.
