Find your legacy!Guimaraes brings vast national and international volleyball experience to the volleyball world, having coached for teams across the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Brazil. Rico has spent more than 20 years coaching volleyball professionally including every level, from kids, amateurs, college to professionals both indoors and beach.Recently coming back to California from Florida, Guimaraes was lead coach and recruiter for both the Boys and Girls National Elite International Teams for USA Beach Volleyball. His U25 team brought back gold and silver in the FIVB World University games in 2016. Also, his U17 teams brought home gold and silver medals at the FIVB World Championship in Acapulco, Mexico, in 2014. Additionally, he coached at two Division 1 colleges taking them both to the NCAA final 8 one year with the Stetson Hatters to the inaugural games and secondly with Florida International University.International experience includes being head coach of the Netherlands Women’s National B Team, where he successfully trained eight players that advanced to the national team and his team was crowned champion of the Dutch League in 2009. His team in Spain, Club Voleibol Tenerife, won the Spanish First Division back in 2006. As an assistant coach, the Women’s Dutch National Team placed sixth at the World Grand Prix in 2005. In 2004, Guimaraes served as the head coach for the Netherlands women’s beach team. In 2001, he served as second coach and physical trainer for the Minetti Vento Banca Vincenza Volley First Division in Vicenza, Italy. During Guimaraes‘ time there, his squads were the champions of the Copa CEV Minetti Vicenza, International Volleyball Tournament in Greece, and runner-up of the Women’s International Volleyball Tournament in Sanremo, Italy. In 1998 Guimaraes served as an assistant coach on the FIVB and CBV Brazilian beach teams in Rio de Janeiro.
