About Ric Robins

I lead the strategy and life-cycle management of compelling value propositions built around the expertise of our Operational Meteorologists. The portfolio of products we offer are the core of the Met Office Expert Weather Services to decision makers across government, defence, industry and those supporting the citizens of the UK to make better decisions to stay safe and thrive, while our world continues to change and challenge us. Operational Expertise propositions focus on products and services that deliver impact and benefit through supporting decision makers with weather insights, forecasts and information in order to help people stay safe and thrive. This ranges from meteorologists directly integrated into organisation's operations and planning, our media broadcasts and social media content to the remote delivery of targeted information and advice where and when it is needed most. As a regular speaker at industry events and conferences, I demonstrate to UK-based agencies and organisations, often operating globally, how to exploit the opportunities and manage the threats caused by weather events.Whether you choose Met Office as your meteorological provider or not, we welcome interactions with industry actors to improve overall UK business efficiency, safety and resilience. We partner with companies, agencies and regulatory bodies to develop future services based on emerging science and meteorology capability. Outside work, I'm passionate about football, having spent years coaching youth and adult football. I take coaching into my workplace to help develop talent. I would like to engage more in leadership coaching forums to share knowledge and best practice. Oh, and I also brew beer from grain and hops, which makes me popular with my neighbours.
