Passionate about driving the strategic objectives and vision of Standard Chartered Bank as the CISO for UAE, the Middle East and Africa region. My goal is working with my wider cyber team to protect and enable the Bank in achieving its prime objectives (business growth, operational resilience etc.), by proactively positioning & managing cybersecurity as a key 'Business risk' in fulfilling that purpose.I have successfully developed and implemented these strategies across diverse sectors, multiple geographies and regulated industries including implementing cybersecurity maturity models & data privacy strategies for managing technology and cyber risks, navigating the web of multi-jurisdictional data privacy & sovereignty regulations, and cultivating a thriving security culture that empowers our teams. I have also spearheaded successful initiatives that enhanced the security posture of the organizations I worked with, such as achieving ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS certifications, and ensuring compliance to other global and regional regulations/standards and delivered data-driven risk reduction strategies that provide critical insights for C-suite decision-making.My passion for elevating cybersecurity standards extends beyond Standard Chartered. I actively contribute to the broader cybersecurity community as a member of the Information Security Advisory Committee at the UAE Banks Federation, where I help shape and promote best practices and standards across the banking industry.
