My love of architecture and design began in 8th grade. I vividly recall the high school guidance counselor coming to our school and talking to each of us. I remember him asking me "What do you want to do as your career?" My 14-year-old response... "Be a truck driver or an architect". Diversity has always been in my blood.In high school, I took drafting and architectural drawing... hand drafting, of course. CAD programs were only a pipe dream. My freshman year however was the same year my school received its first computers. Although I still loved architecture, my new love was computers. I went to college to get my computer science degree. Life interjected, and I found myself in Colorado. Settling down here I found a beautiful, but needy 159-year-old home. That began a long process of remodeling and updating everything. It also started my business in remodeling. Friends and friends of friends soon learned that I knew what I was doing and thus "Family Home Renovations" was created.Unfortunately, life once again interjected and I went looking for a nice 9-5 type job that would pay a consistent paycheck. That led me back to my computer days and I went to work with a telecommunications company. Through the years, I held many positions and finished my career in that field as a Process Manager for a Fortune 500 telecommunications client. That job, as so many have, unfortunately, went overseas. That allowed me to go back to school. My one thought this time was architecture. I received my AAS in Architectural and Building Science and began my career in my lifelong love: Architecture. Over the years I have gained so much experience in project management, architectural design, detail development, client communication, and construction documentation, and now have truly developed a talent for BIM Management. I enjoy the design of processes and methods and standards and families and feel that my creative juices get energized working on those things that others possibly find mundane. I like putting together and sharing a project execution plan. I get excited by a well-thought-out and developed Revit family. I would like to thank my wife and family for all of the support I have received through the years. Love you all!
