I was promoted as the Director of Finance in March of 2019 when the former VP of Finance moved on in his career. I assumed his responsibilities during a time when the company was struggling financially with only two years of experience in the Finance/Accounting Department. Since my promotion, the company's financials and operations have been steadily improving. I have improved profit margins by more than 5% by constantly analyzing/adjusting prices on homes & options, utilizing overhead more efficiently, and capitalizing on the recent housing boom.The COVID-19 Pandemic has created many challenges for homebuilders on the supply side, but it has also brought about an unprecedent demand for new homes. My role has been critical to our continued success, whether it was obtaining the PPP, setting base & option prices, or financing the acquisition of new land inventory, during these volatile times. Unlike most builders we never implemented escalation clauses, out of respect for our customers, forcing me to track the market daily and act quickly. I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. More specifically, with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship. In addition, I minored in both Economics and Psychological Science during my time at the University of Vermont. My friends and colleagues would describe me as personable, which can be attributed to spending my free time building new relationships while strengthening existing ones. I see myself as adventurous and active since I enjoy spending my free time skiing, biking, hiking and the like with friends.Within the professional world, I find working in teams, communicating, and building professional relationships to come naturally. I can work smoothly and productively with all personality types, which stems from my friendly personality and understanding of human psychology. I look forward to proving my competencies and growing my professional network in the years to come.
