I am a digital communications strategist with over 20 years of digital experience, the last 15 of which I’ve spent in corporate communications on both sides of the client/agency fence. I'm now Director of Consulting and Visitor Research at Bowen Craggs, helping companies make the most of their online estates. We combine this with our review methodology and expertise - both developed over 20 years - to give clients guidance rooted in qualitative and quantitative insight. Our clients are some of the biggest companies in the world - from all over the world - and every day really does bring a new challenge: a new topic to address, technology to harness, sector to understand, or audience to reach. Because we do not build or design websites we can offer our clients the honest truth about their digital communication, and recommend ways to improve. It seems that more companies in all parts of the world are finally starting to take their corporate estates seriously, which means we are seeing new and familiar obstacles to overcome. And since we help clients measure the effectiveness their estates, we can see the power of corporate sites to change the perception of companies, and the ways they help audiences such as jobseekers, investors, customers and journalists get what they want too.In my time with agencies, I worked with companies from SMEs through to FTSE100s in a variety of sectors, and at very different stages of their communications cycle, from IPOs to crises. I'd like to think that working with designers and developers gave me an understanding of the challenges they face - but please do not ask me to code or design a home page.I have also spent time in the digital sports world, many years ago now - a rewarding if exhausting start to my career!
