Noah K Whiteman Lab:Conducted research looking the population substructure of a native Oak Mistletoe in California using next-generation sequencing techniques. Produced multiple protocols and DNA extraction and purification for use with high mucilage content. Spatial mapping and analysis was done using arcGIS, Java, and R programming.January 2016 - May 2017Urban Bee Lab:Worked with local farmers and counties in order to both preserve and attract native bee populations to local farms. Also created and distributed education material to inform and train farm workers to know how to increase pollinator presence and also to train the employees. This allows them to get better jobs and to have the tools needed to increase both crop yield, and reduce water consumption.
