Rigel J. Dawson has been teaching God’s word for over 25 years and has a passion for sharing deep truth in relevant and practical ways. Having studied clinical psychology at Wayne State University in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, Rigel was soon led to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and put his education to use in pastoral ministry. He has served several churches in the greater Detroit area and has been a featured speaker across the nation, as well as serving in international mission work. In 2013, Rigel’s first book—The Pastor Is In: A Thirty-Day Devotional Inspired by Peanuts—was published by Hallmark Gift Books. In December of 2019, his next book—Dad Most High: Revolutionizing Your Relationship with God—was published by Westbow Press. Rigel also writes encouraging and inspirational content aimed at helping believers walk in their victory at www.plantedtrees.com. Rigel has been a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor since 2014 and works with Genesee Health System in Flint, Michigan, as a strong advocate in the community for mental health. In 2018, He developed a workshop called Reaching Up & Reaching Out: A Faith Framework for Seeking Mental Health Services and Support. The training is aimed at changing the culture and conversation in the faith community around mental illness.
