After my immunology PhD work at UCLA, I helped launch ImmunoVec, a stealth start up with multiple CIRM funded preclinical cell and gene therapy programs. I work across all aspects including early R&D, bioinformatics, hiring, business development, grant writing, regulatory and CMC to push our early stage and late therapies forward to the clinic. I performed my graduate studies at UCLA in the Molecular Biology Interdepartmental Doctoral Program. My thesis research uncovered novel transcriptional mechanisms which drive Natural Killer cell expansion and memory formation in response to Murine Cytomegalovirus.Prior to UCLA, I worked at Children's Hospital Los Angeles where I studied the role of MDM2 signaling in Retinoblastoma and other neural cancers. Prior to CHLA I worked on projects at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle using rudimentary CRISPR techniques to explore prostate cancer pathways. Looking back it’s amazing how genetic tool have changed in a decade. The next ten years will be revolutionary to bring genetic medicines into mainstream frontline therapies. In my free time I love hiking the Los Angeles hills with my dog, hitting the beach or seeing some live music.Happy to discuss anything related to NK cells, gene therapy and in vivo immunotherapy!
