About Dang Ngoc Toan
My research interest includes gender, child labor, child rights, local participation, women's rights, rights-based development. I have a wealth of 20 years of experience in engaging in the field of development in Vietnam and beyond. Through the engagement, I have had opportunities to get to know more people from around the world, from each of whom I have picked up a different useful thing. I completed my masters degree in Social Planning and Development at the University of Queensland. I recently completed my PhD at the University of Western Sydney in Australia. I am currently a development consultant, trainer and inspirational speaker in Vietnam and beyond. Some of the areas I have often touched upon are: rights in development, women in politics, participatory poverty reduction, community empowering, social justice, rights of community in forest governance, land-use governance etc. I am ethically committed, good at listening, inspirational and enjoy sharing. I am currently a member of the Steering Committee of INGSA ASIA for term 2021-22.

I was fortunate enough to be offered the honorary position of adjunct fellow at the School of Social Sciences at Western Sydney University. I would like to thank Professor Nichoel Georgeou for the opportunity. The areas that I am interested fall in the field of sustainable development with a focus on rights-based development, gender equality, rights of community, empowerment, local participation, social equity and justice...I am keen to share with and learn from. That is how I am empowered as a beginner as a researcher.
